Surface finishes.

Austenitic Stainless Steel (Most Common & Corrosion-Resistant)

Non-magnetic, excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability. 1. 304 – The most widely used grade; excellent corrosion resistance, versatile for kitchen, decoration, architecture. 2. 304L – Low carbon version of 304; better for welding and reduces risk of corrosion near welds. 3. 316 – Similar to 304 but with added molybdenum; better resistance to saltwater and chemicals. 4. 316L – Low carbon version of 316; superior weldability. 5. 321 – Stabilized with titanium; ideal for high temperature and welding applications. 6. 310 / 310S – Excellent heat resistance; used in furnaces, kilns, and high-temp environments.

Ferritic Stainless Steel (Magnetic & Cost-Effective)

Good corrosion resistance, not as strong as austenitic, but cheaper. 7. 430 – Good corrosion resistance, used in decorative and household items (e.g., kitchen backsplashes). 8. 409 – Heat- and corrosion-resistant; common in automotive exhaust systems. 9. 446 – Superior resistance to oxidation and sulfuric atmospheres; used in high-temp environments.

Martensitic Stainless Steel (Hard & Wear-Resistant)

Magnetic, can be heat-treated for strength, used in knives and tools. 10. 410 – Heat-treatable; used for cutlery, pumps, and valves. 11. 420 – Hard, used in surgical instruments and knife blades. 12. 440C – Very high hardness; excellent for cutting tools and bearings.

Duplex Stainless Steel (High Strength + Corrosion Resistance)

Combines austenitic and ferritic properties. 13. 2205 Duplex – Strong and resistant to stress corrosion cracking; great for marine, offshore, and structural applications. 14. 2507 Super Duplex – Even higher strength and corrosion resistance; ideal for harsh chemical or seawater environments.

Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steel (High Strength + Corrosion Resistance)

Can be hardened by heat treatment. 15. 17-4 PH – High strength and moderate corrosion resistance; used in aerospace, valves, and mechanical parts.

Standard Mechanical Finishes

1. 2B Finish – Smooth, dull, and reflective. Commonly used for industrial applications. 2. BA (Bright Annealed) – Shiny and smooth surface, slightly reflective. Used in kitchen and household products. 3. No. 4 (Brushed/Satin) – Hairline texture in one direction, often seen in elevators, appliances, and architecture. 4. No. 8 (Mirror Finish) – Highly reflective, polished surface. Premium aesthetic for decorative and architectural use.

Textured / Patterned Finishes

5. Etched Finish – Designs or patterns chemically etched into the surface. 6. Stamped / Embossed Finish – Patterns (e.g., linen, leather, diamond) pressed into the surface for tactile and visual texture. 7. 3D Laser Finish – Intricate, high-precision laser-engraved designs that give a three-dimensional appearance. 8. Bead-Blasted Finish – Matte surface created by blasting tiny glass beads onto the surface. 9. Vibration Finish – Randomized, swirled pattern with a soft sheen and low reflectivity. 10. Ripple / Wave Pattern – Artistic, flowing wave-like design, often used for high-end interiors.

Coated / Treated Finishes

11. PVD Coated (Physical Vapor Deposition) – Colored stainless steel (gold, bronze, black, blue, etc.) with high durability and luxurious look. 12. Anti-Fingerprint Coating – Special treatment that reduces smudges and fingerprints; ideal for public or high-touch areas. 13. Antique Finish – Aged or distressed appearance that mimics weathered metal for vintage and rustic designs. 14. Titanium Coating – High-strength, colored coating for enhanced corrosion resistance and decorative value.

Special Decorative Finishes

15. Hairline Finish – Fine lines in a single direction; more refined than brushed. 16. Cross-Hairline Finish – Crisscross linear pattern for a unique textured appearance. 17. Colored Stainless Steel – Achieved via electrochemical or chemical coloring; used in architecture and signage. 18. Pearl Finish – Slightly textured and soft reflective surface, ideal for artistic applications. 19. Canvas or Linen Finish – Fabric-like pattern offering a unique decorative texture.
